Snacking is always happening in our house! My kids are always running to the cabinet and asking what there is to eat. Now that they are old enough, it has gotten easier but the lack of ideas makes it easy to go for poor choices.
My niece contacted me a few weeks ago to help her with her Girl Scout Badge for Snacks. Being in quarantine, I can’t physically be there so we are hosting our own virtual snack session over Zoom. The Girl Scouts have 4 quick and healthy snacks for kids to complete for their badge: sweet, savory, energy, and slurp.
I have 4 Girl Scout Snack Badge Recipes that will cover each of these areas:
Sweet: Cloud Dip with Rainbow Fruit
Savory: Pizza Bagels
Energy: Apple Donuts
Slurp: Berry Delicious Smoothie
If your child wants to make any of these snacks, it’s important to remember some basic safety tips.
- If you kids are elementary age, they will need some assistance.
- Remind your kids to ask permission to use any appliances or utensils.
- Always wash your hands before handling food.
- Wash any fresh produce before using.
