12 Yummy Ways to PB&J

HOORAY! It’s PB&J Day, and I have a confession to make! I have an obsession with peanut butter and jelly, and I have it since I was a kid! If you asked me if I could only take one food on a desert island, it would be peanut butter. We are super tight! I eat it every day of my life! It’s the one staple that I have jars of in my pantry. If the zombie apocalypse comes, I am ready to hide with all my jars. There is no better partner to my peanut butter than jam! J can be jelly for you, but it’s jam that makes my heart skip a beat. Jelly is clumpy and slides off a slice of bread. Jam smothers a slice of bread perfectly. It doesn’t glob up. PB&J flavors can come in a lot of different forms. Check out these recipes from some of my friends!

I teach Child Nutrition through a university. One I teach Child Nutrition through a university. One of the first assignments I give is to have students reflect on the “food rules” they grew up with and if they still use them today. 🍦 It helps them see how food has impacted them throughout their life. 🍦 It helps them reflect on the helpfulness or danger of those rules for themselves and their families. 🍦It creates awareness so they don’t put those messages onto other people’s children whom they may work with in the future. 🍦 Children do NOT need food rules! They are naturally intuitive eaters that can self regulate. Your job is to supply what and when they eat. They determine how much! 👉 So did you have food rules growing up? What were they? How do they impact you today?
